Coimbatore: Unidentified burglars struck at a locked house in Gandhi Maa Nagar and decamped with gold and cash.
Coimbatore: Unidentified burglars struck at a locked house in Gandhi Maa Nagar and decamped with gold and cash.
According to police reports, the owner of the house, Devanandhan (51) along with his family had gone to Kerala for medical treatment. Taking advantage of the situation, thieves broke open the door and gained access inside the home.
Today morning when Devanandhan returned, he was shell-shocked to find his house doors forced open. He later found that 20 sovereign gold ornaments and Rs. 1 lakh cash had gone missing from his steel cupboard.
A complaint has been lodged at Saravanampatti police station who visited the crime scene along with forensic officials who took trace of the finger prints. The police are trying to retrieve the CCTV footage from nearby buildings.
