After a tough fight, the fire personnel doused off the fire and secured the area.
In the recent time, the so-called hockey turf has transformed into a grazing ground for cattle and a cricket pitch for boys of the area. Lack of security at the School has opened gates for many anti-social elements who use the place for gambling and liquor.
In 2015, CCMC signed an agreement with a private firm in Bangalore to build the hockey stadium as a Public-Private Partnership project (PPP) however the work did not move an inch. The expensive turf material which was imported from aboard were stashed in the school premises for a long time.
The callousness of the officials in laying the turf ontime and securing them drew strong criticism from sports enthusiasts. As feared, some miscreants set fire to the turf material and turned it into ashes.
Now for the second time, the turf which was re-laid has been set ablaze, today. While sources from school are unsure, if students are involved in the act. Repeated fire accidents at the same ground has raised the eyebrows of many.
