Perched atop the Elk Hill at 2000 feet above the sea level, Sri Baladhandayuthapani temple dedicated to Lord Muruga is most sought among the locals in and around the Nilgiris.
Inspired by the architecture and structure of the famous Murugan temple deity in Malaysia, the elk hill temple was built with a 40-feet tall deity decorated with golden enamel. Though the temple is located inside the forest range, the panoramic view of the valley largely attracts tourists population, as well.
As a part of Thai Poosam celebration, special poojas and annadhanams were offered, today at the temple premises.
