First-ever 'Rekla' race for bulls held in Kangeyam

Tirupur : Folk in Kangeyam were a happy lot as the 'Rekla' race for bulls was held for the very first time, with more than 450 rekla vehicles participating.


Tirupur : Folk in Kangeyam were a happy lot as the 'Rekla' race for bulls was held for the very first time, with more than 450 rekla vehicles participating. The rekla race for bulls witnessed a total of 450 pairs of bulls from Coimbatore, Pollachi, Tirupur, Dharapuram and Dindigul. The race was conducted in two divisions of 200 meters and 300 meters. 



Kangeyam bulls, the traditional native breeds attracted spectators by crossing the race track in lightning speed. People from Erode, Tirupur and Dindigul thronged in large numbers to watch the rekla race.
