Tirupur : In a media briefing in the city after participating in a function merger of cadres from other political parties into the BJP fold at Tirupur, Tamilisai Soundararajan, the BJP Tamilnadu State President opined, "Even though Thambidurai, the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker is speaking against a possible poll alliance with the BJP, the State Minister, D Jayakumar has been consistent and clear on AIADMK's views." She reiterated that the media interviews of Thambidurai could not be taken as the official view of AIADMK but the views of Minister Jayakumar are.

While demanding to know why secular parties including the DMK and its leader M K Stalin have not condemned an art exhibition at Loyola College in which deities of a particular religion was portrayed in an indecent manner, Tamilisai said that the shelved schemes during the UPA era have been implemented by the Prime Minister Modi for the welfare of the people. "The DMK should not forget the past when former Prime Minister Vajpayee helped DMK from losing its power due to the dissolution of the Assembly," noted Tamilisai.
Tamilisai also revealed that plans are afoot by the BJP state unit to conduct a massive rally in Tiruppur in which PM Modi would address the cadres on February 10, for which dates have already been sought.
