According to reports, the police recovered the dead body of an unidentified person on January 15 from the bushes in the Lanka Corner bridge near Coimbatore railway station. Since the person was found to be murdered, based on the orders from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (law and order) L Balaji Saravanan, a police team was formed comprising of Rajavel, Devendran and Rajesh to nab the culprits.
The special police team investigation found that the murdered person was Karthik (30) of Ramanathapuram who was a daily wager. Allegedly, Karthik had an illegal affair with transsexual Mani alias Jenifer who has been absconding since the death of Karthik.
Following this, the police nabbed Jenifer who revealed that Jenifer murdered Karthik along with a few others. Based on the investigation, the police also arrested Senthil (25) from Devakottai, Mohammed (36) of Ukkadam and Rajesh (20) of Kumbakonam and Ansar (26) of Podanur. The arrested have confessed that they murdered Karthik since he refused to pay money after soliciting Jenifer.
