According to the organisers of the NGO, "Miyawaki patch would increase the green cover around the lake and increase the ground water level in the area. It would also support the biodiversity of the lake".
Around 50 volunteers of the NGO met today on the 102nd cleaning drive at Vellalore to brainstorm storm ideas on implementing the third Miyawaki patch in Vellalore. During the meet, the volunteers exchanged ideas on the tree species to be planted and the feasibility of the project.

On February 4, 2018, the NGO planted 1000 saplings of native species including Palm, Neem and Tamarind.
