Due to Sangameswarar Temple festival, traffic diversion announced on January 21

Coimbatore : Owing to the annual car festival of Sangameswarar temple, the District Traffic Police have announced traffic diversion for one day on January 21 between 10 am to 1 pm.

Those vehicles enroute via Townhall to Ukkadam or Palakkad by pass through Brookebond road,Old flyover are requested to take the right next to JM Bakery on Avinashi road and use the Government arts College road then take the Classic towers road. Or can use Race Course Road and reach Sungam and then take Vaalankulam bypass to reach Ukkadam or Palakkad main road.

Similarly, all vehicles enroute to Townhall from Trichy road are requested to use either Classic towers road or Vaalankulam road. Those vehicles travelling from Marakkadai through NH road-Town Hall-Ukkadam are requested to divert at Five Corner and reach Manikoondu. From, there all light weight vehicles can use Vincent road to reach Ukkadam. However, buses will use LankaCorner-Trichy road-Classic towers-Vaalankulam bypass and reach Ukkadam. Heavy weight vehicles will not be permitted to use the Link Road or Ukkadam bypass.

Importantly, no vehicles will be allowed to park in Kottai Easwaran Koil Street, Perumal Koil street, Townhall and Manikoondu. All commercial establishments on these roads are also advised to make necessary arrangements to park their vehicles, elsewhere. Apart from the above mentioned routes, there will be no traffic diversion in rest of the parts of the City. Hence, all public are advised to co-operate with the temporary traffic alteration proposed by the traffic police department on January 21 between 10 am to 1 pm, said a communique from the department.
