Coimbatore : Villagers of Pooluvapatti near Thondamuthur were in for a shock today morning as a wild animal suspected to be an leopard had attacked and killed five goats and five hens in a private farm here.
The cattle and poultry belonged to a farmer named Periyasamy.
The incident came to light when Periyasamy had checked his farm in the morning. The kills were lying around with blood spilled all over.
Madukkarai foresters who inspected the spot later suspected that the attack could have been carried out by a leopard.
It maybe noted that a leopard was caught using a cage in the nearby village a few months ago and leopard attacks have been recorded in the villages nearby even after the capture.
