According to a statement, through the programme ‘Rise Transforming lives’, most of the women prisoners are working in cloth bag stitching, which is an alternative for plastic. R Arivudainambi, DIG of Prisons, Coimbatore Range, R Krishna Raj, Superintendent of Prisons, Special prison for women, Coimbatore, Dr Leema Rose Martin, Director, Martin group of companies and S Tharani, Deputy jailor, Special prison for women, Coimbatore Central Prison, Coimbatore were present for the event.
