Coimbatore : Singaporean budget carrier Scoot Airlines will operate five flights a week from October this year between Coimbatore and Singapore. Scoot will be taking over Silk Air routes here.
Scoot is the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines and it is planning to expand its services in India. According to The Hindu, an official statement issued by the airline, announcing its expansion plans in India, said the services to Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam would begin on October 27, while flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Singapore would commence on May, all subject to the regulatory authority’s approval.
Announcing the new services, the airline has also introduced a limited period sale of tickets on its website from January 14 to January 28 from all its India points, including Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam.
The Hindu reported that one-way promotional fares (inclusive of tax) begin from Rs 4,500 for economy class for trips to 27 cities in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam via Singapore.
