Tirupur : Three persons including a three-and-half-year-old infant died in a car accident near Dharapuram today.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Nachimuthu, Jyothimani and Selvamithran (3.5) - all from Dharapuram. Muthusami (62), retired TNSTC bus conductor has been admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Muthusami, along with his wife Jyothimani, father Nachimuthu and grandson Selvamithran were returning to Dharapuram after Pongal celebrations in Udumalai.
Muthusami lost control of the car near Dharapuram and dashed against a tree here. In the accident, Muthusami escaped with injuries and others including infant Selvamithran died.
Muthusami was taken to Dharapuram Government Hospital for treatment and was later shifted to CMCH. Dharapuram police have registered a case and they are investigating.
