Coimbatore : Actor-turned politician Kamal Haasan, President of the Makkal Needhi Maiyam party arrived in the city today to inaugurate the party’s new office and celebrate the Harvest festival, Pongal with the rural folk here.
Answering to the media's query on the trending Kodanad issue, Kamal Haasan said, "After the video on Kodanad issue was released, people and political parties opine that the Chief Minister should step down. Perhaps, I have been stressing the same for the past two and a half years now. My stance remains the same now".
"The documentary on Kodanad murders and theft has certainly triggered more questions and a new chapter of the mysterious story", he opined.
"However, we cannot deny the fact that there have been CMs in the past who were alleged with murder allegations. Anyway, my point doesn't imply that this allegation is something we can be proud of", noted the President of Makkal Needhi Maiyam.
‘If the allegations against the Chief Minister is intended to tarnsih his name, then it is a crime. To the contrary, if the allegations are factual and attempts are made to deter the truth, then it is even bigger crime," stressed Kamal Haasan.
