Tamil Nadu : Members of Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha, a fringe political party staged a protest at Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border urging to commence Mekedatu dam construction works.
Staging a demonstration at Aththippali near Krishnagiri, the protest was headed over by Vatal Nagaraj. Members of few other Kannada parties also participated in the demonstration.
While addressing the media, Vatal Nagaraj said, ‘If Tamil Nadu people do not agree for Mekedatu dam construction works, we will allow to release Tamil movies in Karnataka hereon".
"Whatever be the disapprovals, dam will be built at Mekedatu", he noted.
Later, Vatal Nagaraj and his team were arrested.
