Coimbatore : As the two-day nationwide strike announced by various trade unions began today, bus transport services from Coimbatore to Kerala has been suspended.
Various trade unions across the country are on a two-day nationwide strike on various demands. Owing to this, the operation of 27 buses from the Ukkadam Bus Stand in the city to Kerala has been suspended.
Speaking on this, one of the transport officials said, "18 buses belonging to the TNSTC Coimbatore are operated to Kerala from the Ukkadam bus stand. Nine buses that includes SETC and private buses are also operated. Transport services of all these 27 buses have been suspended due to the nationwide strike."
People travelling to different parts of Kerala have been greatly inconvenienced due to the strike. However, 90 percent of the buses are operational within the city limits.
