Coimbatore City police launches ‘Police E-Eye’ app to report traffic violations

Coimbatore : Coimbatore City police launched ‘Police E-Eye’ android application to report traffic violations today. Using the app, the public can shoot images of various traffic violations and necessary action will be taken by police based on the evidence.


Coimbatore : Coimbatore City police launched ‘Police E-Eye’ android application to report traffic violations today. Using the app, the public can shoot images of various traffic violations and necessary action will be taken by police based on the evidence.



Police are hoping that the continuous vigil would reduce traffic violations in the city. Public can download the app from Google Playstore. The public can shoot images of traffic violators using the app and fines will be collected from defaulters through cash or as digital transaction. 



City Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan said, “Through this app, the public can alert police on traffic rules violations including riding without helmets, affecting traffic movement and others. The location and time would also get recorded along with the image and necessary fine will be imposed on violators. Assistant Police Commissioner (Traffic) Raj Kanna said, “The app was earlier launched on trial basis and fines were imposed on over 1000 persons. Even 30 government buses were fined. Also, if any government vehicle violates traffic rules, the department head will be informed and necessary fine will be collected.”



 DCP (Traffic) Sujit Kumar and DCP (Law and Order) Dr. L Balaji Saravanan were also present during the event.
