Flagging off the inter-cultural rally at Race Course today, Yaduveer Krishnanadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar also added that the annual Kovai Vizha has been instrumental in taking different cultures to the people.
He was interacting with the media after flagging off the rally.

“Kovai Vizha has been able to bring together people of different ethnic races into one umbrella. I am happy to be a part of it and wish to come back again in the future,” he said.
He further advised children to hold on to the traditions of the country that were gifted to us by our ancestors .

The rally was held as a part of the ongoing Kovai Vizha, in which people from different cultures living here participated. It started from the Judges enclave in Race Course and carried on for three kms.
With the city hosting people from many States being an industrial hub, the rally hosted representations from varied cultures.

Cultural and folk dances of Tamil Nadu including Mayilattam, Oyilattam, Paraiyattam, Silambam and cultural music and dance from Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab and other states were performed by artists.
It was jointly organised by 22 different organisations and was saw participations from various schools, colleges and NGOs.

The 11th edition of Kovam Vizha started on the 4th of January and would continue till the 12th. As many as 130 events have been planned in around 100 places all over the city.
