Tirupur: A 12-year-old boy drowned in an abandoned well near Vengumedu today.
The deceased was identified as Anubuselvan (12) is a class 7 student and he resides with his family in Indira Nagar, Chettipalayam here. Anbuselvan, along with his friends went to take bath at a private abandoned well Vengumedu today. Since Anbuselvan didn’t know swimming he drowned in the well and his friends alerted public nearby.
Public alerted police and Anupparpalayam police rushed to the spot along with firefighters. It took them five hours to recover Anbuselvan’s body and it was sent to Tirupur Government Hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case and investigating.
