Through the year, Palani temple is thronged by devotees from various parts of the State. Owing to Sabarimala season, thousands of devotees have been using the rope cars to reach the shrine.
This morning, a Python weighing 150 kg Python slithered into and took refuge in the rope car unit.
The rope car operator spotted the Python inside the rope care and immediately alerted the fire service personnel who reached the spot and captured the Python.
Later, the captured python was handed over to the Forest department personnel who released it into deeper jungles in the Kodaikanal range.
