Tirupur : An anonymous letter sent to a private middle school near Mannarai threatening to blow up all private schools in Tiruppur, created a flutter in and around Tiruppur. The letter was sent to Krishnasamy Gounder Pushpavathi Ammal middle school in Mannarai which warned authorities to take prompt action to close down a gambling club functioning in the Mannarai area which was allegedly the root cause of all evils in the city.
“A gambling club is functioning into the late hours, in a commercial complex in the Mannarai area where all sorts of illicit activities including gambling, gutka and ganja sales are being carried out. One gambler who had lost his money at the club had ended his life," read the letter. The letter stated that the gambling centre ought to be sealed by the police.
Following a formal complaint by the Headmaster of the school to the Tiruppur (North) police, the police have initiated an investigation and are on the lookout for the writer of the letter.
