Coimbatore: Pro-Hindutva groups across Kerala have called for a state-wide hartal today, protesting against the entry of two women into the Sabarimala hill shrine in Kerala. Following this, the operation of 27 buses to Kerala from Ukkadam bus stand here, has been suspended.
Speaking on this, one of the officials from the Transport Department said, "18 State transport buses and 9 buses comprising SETC and private buses are usually operated from the Ukkadam bus stand here.
All these services have been suspended due to the call for bandh in Kerala." With bus services coming to a grinding halt, people heading to Kerala from Coimbatore have been left in the lurch.
