Coimbatore: Miffed by the behaviour of society towards the marginalised women and mainly on transgenders, a group of alumni from Government College of Technology have started a consultancy named Vilumbu to emancipate and empower the marginalised women in an organisation and helps in inclusion and diversity.

"The society’s thoughts and emotions towards the transgenders has created furore, after which we have gathered to start helping the talented and bold transgenders who can work despite going astray. The step to begin our new ideas was inspired by the transgender who was left to destitute by the society but holds the wisdom and knowledge to survive and work in any sector", said Sriram Anax, a member of Vilumbu.

The team has so far helped eight marginalised women and two transgenders a job in Advanced Clothing Concept, a sewing unit. In order to sensitize both ACC employees and new intakes, Vilumbu organised inclusion and diversity training on 20th December.

He also said that the team is keen on improving the same idea of inclusion and diversity, also suggesting how lack of diversity affects the schools, colleges including organisations and companies.
