Six legislative constituencies – Ooty, Coonoor and Gudalur in Nilgiris, Mettupalayam in Coimbatore, Avinashi in Tiruppur and Bhavanisagar in Erode falls under the Nilgiris parliament constituency. There are 13,36,484 voters under Nilgiris constituency and there will be 1413 voting centres across all six legislative assembly constituencies during the MP elections. Government Polytechnic College, Ooty is the vote counting centre here.
District Collector J Innocent Divya, SP Shanmugha Priya, Election officers of six legislative constituencies and other senior district administration officials took part in the inspection. The team inspected the counting rooms and other facilities available for the officers.
