Man killed by elephant in Coimbatore

Coimbatore : In a tragic incident, a 70-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant inside reserve forest in Mullankadu here.


Coimbatore : In a tragic incident, a 70-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant inside reserve forest in Mullankadu here.

The incident came to light when local people went in search of the victim S. Chetti, who went to collect fuel wood yesterday. 

He was a resident of the Mullankadu tribal settlement in Semmedu village.

His mortal remains were identified inside the forest with wounds made by an elephant. The retrieved mortal remains were later sent to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.
