Anganwadi pensioners stage 'sit-in dharna' demanding Pongal bonus

Coimbatore : Demanding that a Pongal bonus and a minimum pension benefit of Rs.7850 ought to be extended to them, the Nutritious Meal and Anganwadi Pensioners Association staged a sit-in dharna at the Tatabad Collectorate.

Coimbatore : Demanding that a Pongal bonus and a minimum pension benefit of Rs.7850 ought to be extended to them, the Nutritious Meal and Anganwadi Pensioners Association staged a sit-in dharna at the Tatabad Collectorate. 



Alleging that the Government was neglecting the pensioners' welfare, they demanded that medical insurance should also be extended to the family members of the pensioners. Over 100 pensioners participated int eh the sit-in dharna.
