Owing to the frost, carrot cultivation carried at Indhu Nagar, Thalaikundha, Palada and Solur was severely affected. The minimum temperature recorded at Botanical Garden was 5 degrees celsius, with the temperature plummeting even lower in other parts of the town. Normal life was affected in the Nilgiris district with tourists also preferring to stay indoors to ward off the biting cold.
