Coimbatore : In a burglary attempt, the public nabbed two men and handed him over to the police for allegedly attempting to burgle a house at Keeranatham in Coimbatore.
According to reports, hundreds of residents reside in Sakthi Garden area near Keeranatham. In the recent days, the residents have spotted some strangers roam in their area, who identified themselves as water can distributors and also providing tank cleaning services.
At 12 noon today, two burglars are reported to have broke open a house that had remained closed for the past three days. As the burglary attempt was happening, the owner of the house returned back and was shocked to see the burglars inside his house.
On seeing him, they tried to run away. However, the public managed to catch one among them. Based on the information collected from him, they traced and nabbed the other man.
The residents, then tied both to a tree and confiscated receipts for mortgaging gold ornaments. Thereafter, the public handed over the duo to the Kovilpalayam police.
