Nilgiris : The Forest Department has captured a 13-feet python at Thaimalai area in Nilgiris. Residents of the Thaimalai region in the Nilgiris had alerted the Forest Department that a python had been spotted entering their settlements and eating their livestock.

Following this, based on the instruction from the Coonoor Forest Range Officer, Periyasamy, the forest guard Kupendran, Ramkumar and Logeswaran led by officer Felix, went to the spot and caught the python which was immobile having swallowed the prey. The python was later released into the dense forest.
