Several women and children took part in the ‘Jyothi’ procession held as part of the event. The special poojas began with Ganapathi Homam at 5 a.m in the morning. Temple founder Shankar Swami inaugurated the ‘Thiruvilaku pooja’ lighting the lamp here. Special poojas were also performed to Bhagavathi deity at the temple.

The temple procession began at 3 p.m at the temple and it passed through important streets here and traditional Chanda was played as part of the procession. Ernakulam Sindhu performed cultural events as part of the festival and performers dressed up like Goddess Kali, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva and Goddess Annalakshmi. Several devotees took part in the event and an annadhanam was also held at the temple as part of the pooja.
