ATMs run dry, tippler man damages machines at two places in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A frustrated tippler damaged ATMs at two places here after the as the machines did not dispense cash yesterday night. Police are on the lookout for the suspect.

Coimbatore: A frustrated tippler damaged ATMs at two places here after the as the machines did not dispense cash yesterday night. Police are on the lookout for the suspect. 

The suspect has allegedly damaged an ATM Machine of City Union Bank near Vasantha Mills in Singanallur and another ATM near SIHS Colony here. Today morning, when bank staff reached the Singanallur ATM, they found the machine damaged and they immediately alerted police. Assistant Commissioner Suresh, Inspector Saravanan and other police personnel visited the place.



On investigation, police found that a tippler has allegedly attempted to withdraw cash from the machines. As the ATMs ran out of cash, the frustrated tippler damaged the machine using stone, pushed it to ground and pulled down the shutters of the ATM centre. Police have collected CCTV footages and are investigating.
