Members from all political parties rally behind farmers urging Dist.Collector to resolve issue

Tirupur: Members from various parties comprising of DMK, Congress and MDMK jointly petitioned at the District Collectorate to resolve the ongoing farmers issue at the earliest. 



Thousands of farmers from 14 districts including Tirupur, Coimbatore, Karur and Erode have been staging a ‘waiting protest’ for the past ten days, against the setting up of high voltage transmission lines on agricultural lands. 

Meanwhile, in the past four days, around 18 farmers went on an indefinite hunger strike at Kallipalayam, Tirupur. Among them. three farmers took ill today.
