Coimbatore : A review meeting was convened at the CMCH to review the ongoing infrastructure development work being done at the cost of Rs.98 crores and the medical equipment procurement at the cost of Rs.186 crores, at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
After presiding over the meeting, the Project Director Umamaheshwari said that the Chief Minister’s comprehensive health scheme has achieved an increased profit of Rs.1.5 crore compared to the last fiscal year. Under the JICA scheme, the blueprints for the new infrastructure building has been finalized which is to be constructed under the Tamil Nadu urban health care project. “It is heartening to note that the 108 services have achieved the 8-minute response time for an emergency call which could be put on par with advanced nations. While RTA services have a response time of 12 minutes, it has been instructed to minimize the response time to 108,104 and mortuary van services," added Umamaheshwari.
To discourage people from going to private operators, the speed of mortuary van services has been increased. Umamaheshwarit denied rumors about two entries having been made for the single health insurance beneficiary. All the stakeholders including the CMCH hospital staff, emergency services staff and Red Cross members participated in the meeting.
