Prioritising the safety of the passengers, Sylendra Babu, Additional Director General of Police of the Railways (GRP) paid a surprise visit, today to Coonoor railway station and inspected the precautionary measures carried out by the officials to manage contingent situations.
Briefing the media on the purpose of his inspection, the ADGP urged the passengers to alert the railway police during unforeseen situations. He assured that the railway officials have been advised to act swiftly to complaints raised by the passengers, especially women.
He also proposed that the railways department should enforce the passengers to use GRP app. And, also create awareness on railway helpline numbers.
