“The proposed merger plan of Dena Bank, Vijaya Bank and Baroda Bank is to be condemned since the past mergers of banks have not yielded desired results," complained the agitating employees. "The merger plans entail shut down of branches and retrenchment of employees which are affecting customer.
The merger of the State Bank Group has not yielded any positive outcome, despite the Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeling it as a victory of sorts. The Central Government should give up the merger plan immediately,” demanded the protesting bank employees.
