Mani (68) from GN Mills had been in a state of grief and heartbreak, since his wife's death last year on 21st August 2015 and had been living with his son Ashok Kumar (39). Yesterday, being his wife's first death anniversary, Mani was seen totally dejected. He left his home without informing his son. He went to the Odandurai bridge near Bhavani River and committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.
The people reported the incident to the Mettupalayam police station who have registered a case. His body has been recovered and sent to post mortem. The incident has stirred the souls of the people and his relatives.
