Cable operators petition to withdraw revised cable tv rates

Coimbatore : More than 300 Cable TV Operators petitioned at the District Collectorate urging to withdraw the revision in cable tv rates. 

The petition filed by cable tv operators stressed that the new rates of paid channels released by the TRAI should be withdrawn. "The new proposal of TRAI will be a huge burden on the people, as they will have to pay around Rs 500", the petition added. 

Their petition further added that the GST for cable TVs should be down sized to 5% from the prevailing 18%.
