Coimbatore : Arumugam, Sub-Inspector of Selvapuram police station died in a road accident near Madhampatti, here this afternoon.
Arumugam joined the police force in the year 1981. He was presently working as Sub-Inspector at Selvapuram police station. This noon, Arumugam left from his residence in variety hall road to his farmland in Madhampatti.
As his two-wheeler reached SR petrol bunk on Madhampatti road, his vehicle banged on the divider and sustained greivous injuries. Menawhile, a car which was enroute via the road stopped by and helped him to shift him to a hospital.
As the nearby private hospital denied to attend him, he was rushed to the government hospital. However, the doctors there declared him brought dead.
It is to be noted that Arumugam had served as security officer to late Former CM MGR.
