Coimbatore : The Congress party hasn’t named Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate and decision regarding will be taken later, said Kushboo in Coimbatore on Friday.
The Congress spokesperson was here to take part in the 22nd State Meet of Indian Society for Cultural Cooperation and Friendship at Hindustan College premises here. Kushboo said, “A decision regarding the Prime Minister candidate will be taken at the right time and nobody has opposed Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister candidate. The Congress party hasn’t announced Rahul Gandhi as Prime Ministerial candidate.” She said that they are glad that DMK Chief M.K Stalin proposed Rahul Gandhi as PM candidate.

Regarding the recent reduction of GST rates on 34 items, Kushboo said, “The Centre has reduced the rates after losing elections in five states. The Congress has been requesting this for the past 2 years.” She asked what stopped the Centre from doing this when GST was implemented. Kushboo also questioned the Centre’s recent order granting permission to 10 agencies to access data from computers across the country.
Regarding Gaja relief, Kushboo said, “The Prime Minister has time to attend celebrity weddings but he doesn’t have time to visit farmers affected by Gaja cyclone. The BJP and AIADMK are hand in gloves and they haven’t done anything for the benefit of farmers.”
On the recent events at Tami Nadu Producer Council’s office, Kushboo said, “Arresting Council’s President Vishal is against democracy. There is no proof for allegations leveled against him.” She added that there has been political interference in this. One of the leader’s in the opposing party is from BJP and another leader is from AIADMK. They have misused their power.”
