Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal said today that the State government developing a water distribution scheme at a cost of Rs.426 Crores for the rural parts of Annur and Avinashi.

The Speaker was at Pokalur village near Mettupalayam today to inaugurate and distribute various welfare schemes to the beneficiaries. Speaker Dhanapal distributed two-wheelers to 120 working women under the Amma two-wheeler scheme and distributed old age pensions to 48 beneficiaries. The Speaker also inaugurated anganwadis, Amma parks and various other projects here.

Speaking at the event, Speaker Dhanapal said, “A new water distribution scheme at a cost of Rs.426 Crores will be implemented for rural parts of Annur and Avinashi. As promised during elections, the Athikadavu-Avinashi scheme is being implemented.” He added that survey works are being conducted for new bypass in Annur.
