High Court permitting 'Black Shirt Rally' at Tiruchy is a victory of sorts: G Ramakrishnan, General Secretary of TPDK

Coimbatore: The High Court granting permission for the forthcoming ‘Black Shirt Rally” (Karum Chattai Perani) being organized in Tiruchy for the propagation of Thanthai Periyar's values is a victory of sorts by which justice has prevailed, according to G Ramakrishnan, the General Secretary of TPDK.

Briefing the media, G Ramakrishnan said, "Even though police permission was denied to the rally, the Court has come to the rescue of the organisers and granted permission for the rally. The conference is slated for December 23 at Tiruchy. The sole aim of the rally is to popularise and take forward the ideals of Thanthai Periyar, who fought against segregation on the basis of caste and creed,” added G Ramakrishnan. 

Lakhs of Periyar followers are to participate in the massive rally which will commence at 2 pm, followed by a conference at the Uzhavar Sandhai Thidal in the city, on the same day. Over 100 Periyar movements and Dalit organizations will take part in the conference.

DK leader K Veeramani, Thirumurugan Gandhi, the leader of the May 17 movement and Kolathur Mani of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam are to participate in this massive rally.
