Coimbatore: Officials seized a total of 1000 kg of ration rice from Ettimadai railway station and K K Chavadi, here today.
Based on a tip-off, District Collector, T.N. Hariharan ordered the officials of District Supply Officer to launch a search at Ettimadai railway station and K K Chavadi here.
During the search, officials seized 700 kg of ration rice at Ettimadai railway station and 300 kg ration rice at K K Chavadi bus stand which were ready to be smuggled to Kerala.
Officials said that the seized ration rice are worth Rs 30,000.
