District BJP unit petitions President of India to disqualify Rahul Gandhi from MP post

Coimbatore: Citing that there was no substance in the Congress-led allegations against the BJP-led Government with regard to the Rafale jet deal, the BJP cadres led by Nandakumar, the District President submitted a petition to the Collector. They demanded that the President of India should disqualify Rahul Gandhi, Congress President from the Member of Parliament post for spreading canards about BJP's involvement in the Rafale deal.

The Supreme Court has dismissed petitions urging for a court-monitored probe into the controversial Rafale deal in which 36 fighter planes were procured for the Indian Airforce, thus substantiating that it was not a corrupt deal. “As there is no solid proof that corruption was done in the Rafale jet deal in which 36 aircraft were procured from Dassault, a French firm, the Congress which spread canards should own up responsibility for the misinformed campaign and pay for its faults,” said the petitioners.

The original deal to buy 129 Rafael jets for the Indian Airforce was stalled during the UPA Government and PM Modi entered into a deal with Dassault to buy 36 planes in a flyaway condition, with Anil Ambani’s company being roped in as a facilitator in 2015.

“As Rahul Gandhi has misled the nation in the Rafale deal, he should be relieved from the post of MP forthwith,” demanded the BJP petitioners who have addressed the petition to the President of India.
