Coimbatore: West Zone IG K. Periaiah today inspected infrastructure and functioning of armed reserve police in the city, today.
IG, Periaiah inspected the infrastructure and 250 vehicles of the force. A parade of 600 armed reserve police personnel was conducted. As part of the inspection, the force then separated into two teams and conducted a mock drill of police action during riots.
The police force enacted the mock riots by firing shots into the air, tear gas and by using water cannons. A mock lathi charge was also demonstrated, as part of the drill.
Superintendent of Police, R. Pandiarajan was also present during the inspection.
