The deceased was Keshavan (75) from Palakkad, Kerala. Keshavan was a daily wages worker involved in the production of camphor oil here. Today morning, on his way to work, Keshavan was attacked by a wild gaur which was a straying in the area. Keshavan succumbed to injuries. Forest and police personnel collected his body and it was sent to Ooty Government Hospital for post-mortem.
