The Kikani railway underpass is one of the major roads connecting the Brooke Bond road with Gandhipuram. During rains, the underpass is inundated with sewage and rainwater. Often cyclists crossed the railway track to escape wading through ankle-deep rainwater and sewage.
Corporation officials had to often close traffic in this stretch and drain out sewage at the underpass. Following repeated public requests, officials conducted repair works in the underpass during the past week and it was reopened for traffic today.
