2nd edition of Coimbatore Book Fair flagged off at Codissia

The Second edition of Coimbatore Book festival was inaugurated today at the Codissia Hall, Avinashi Road.

The Small Scale Industry Association along with the Publishers Association has organised this 10-day book fair, the event was inaugurated by V. Balakumaran, well-renowned Writer/Novelist at 5:00 pm.

Nearly 160 Publishers across Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka and New Delhi have booked 250 stalls and close to 1 lakh books of various genres will be sold at the fair.

The organisers have invited students and faculty members from 1200 educational institutions across the district to participate in the book fair. The book fest will host keynote lectures by noted orators, educational lists and writers for the all ten days. Actor Sivakumar will be delivering a keynote tomorrow at the book fest.

Last year, the first edition witnessed an over-whelming response from the public, who remarked that they were able to locate rare books all under one roof. Parents can plan to take their children to such book fairs and inculcate the habit of reading in them. The quote by Margaret Fuller "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” is something to be thought upon by the younger generation.

The books will be sold at a discount of 10% from the actual prices.
