PM Narendra Modi, Vladimir Putin Interact Via Video-Con For Kudankulam Event: Highlights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin interacts via video-conferencing in an event focused on the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project built with Russian collaboration in Tamil Nadu. Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj and State Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is also participating through video link.

  • Nuclear power is clean and green power... the dedication of the Kudankulam Power plant is a milestone in the friendship between Russia and India.
  • A nuclear power plant takes longer to build... not only is the engineering complex, the highest level of safety is needed.
  • Due to the confidence building measures, locals were convinced and their concerns were addressed.
  • I request that the 2nd unit may also be commissioned at the earliest considering our economy that is growing at a rapid pace as well as keeping the industrial and manufacturing growth in mind. This will also help Tamil Nadu and its neighbouring states having adequate power.
