Indian Air Force to host a live musical concert for Coimbatorians

A grand musical concert has been planned by the Indian Air Force for the citizens of Coimbatore to pay tribute to the nation's 70th Independence day.

In a press meet today Air Commander, Vaidhya apprised the press on the event details.



He stated that presently, there are totally 8 musical bands in the Indian Air Force and the No:1 team from Bangalore, comprising of 35 musicians led by Master Warrant Officer AL Maxwell will be entertaining the audience on the eve of Independence day. He evoked that the first Air force musical band was started in 1944 in the northern frontier which is now currently annexed with Pakistan and later reformed in 1947 at Bangalore. 

The musicians will perform live musical sessions using Trumpet, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Euphonium, Jazz set, BSS drums Trombone etc., 

The event will be hosted at Brooke fields Mall at 6:00 pm on 14th August 2016.

No passes or entry fee is required for attending the event.
