Petition by Arundhati Community people to issue 'Pattas'

The activists of Marxist Community Party and MS Murugan, former Councillor today filed a petition for issuance of Pattas for the Arundhati Community People residing at Ward 21 Tank bed line area.

More than 200 families of the Arundhati Community have been residing there for over 60 years. They have been mostly engaged in sanitation related works in the Municipality and Corporation.

The people have made meaningful contributions towards upliftment of the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the city and hence to honor their efforts, an order has been passed by the TN Chief Minister to allot lands and houses to the people of such underprivileged castes.

The land that is supposed to be allotted for them has been used by TNAU even after termination of the tender period, they stated.

Hence they requested the collector to resolve the underlying issues and allot them with Pattas with immediate effect.
