Petitions filed at Collectorate

'Pattas' yet to be issued

Residents of Saravanampatti (Ward 29 ) along with their area Councillor petitioned regarding pending pattas for more than 700 families.

Out of the total 1500 families, only 700 were allotted proper pattas, they said. The revenue department surveyed the land of the remaining 700 families and declared it as reserve sites and was denied pattas, stated Mahadevan.

Hence, the residents today petitioned the Collector to re-survey the land and approve them of legal pattas.

Hairdressers Petition for Land Allocation

The Maruthavar Saloon workers welfare association along with the association secretary K.Maruthachalam filed a petition to district collector. In their petition they have demanded allocation of land for constructing houses or provide houses for rent.

They exclaimed that the Maruthavar community  falls under the backward class. Due to this many people do not provide them houses for rent. This is leading many barbers to leave the profession which they are doing from the time of their ancestors and go to other city for earning lively hood.

They have strongly demanded the district administration should hear their pleas and provide them land where all the community people  can construct houses and live together.
